The five questions every host gets, and why the manual never fixes them
It's always the same questions. Here's why a better guidebook alone never solves it, and what I built instead.
It's always the same five questions.
What's the WiFi password. Where do we park. What time is check-in, actually — the listing says 3pm but can we get in earlier. Is there a hair dryer. What's good to eat nearby.
Every host learns this within the first month. Doesn't matter how good your listing description is, how detailed your house manual is, how many photos you took of the thermostat with arrows pointing at it — guests don't read the manual. They text you. Usually while you're driving, or asleep, or three drinks into your own vacation.
The manual isn't the problem
I used to think the fix was a better guidebook. More detail, better formatting, laminate it, leave it on the counter. It helped a little. But a guest standing in an unfamiliar kitchen at 9pm isn't going to flip through a binder — they're going to do what they do for literally everything else in their life: pull out their phone and ask.
So I stopped fighting that and built something that meets them there instead.
What I actually built
Nightdesk takes the guestbook you already have — the PDF, the house manual, whatever you've already written — and turns it into a chat link you send your guest. They ask their question in plain language, at whatever hour they're actually awake, and get an answer pulled straight from what you wrote. No generic AI guessing. No made-up door code. Just your actual information, answered instantly, in whatever language they're asking in.
The five questions don't stop happening. They just stop reaching you.
Try it on your next guest
There's a free tier for a single listing, no card required. Upload your existing guestbook PDF, link a reservation, and see what your next guest asks before you'd have even seen the text notification.
